Dr. Carmela Gioele Galiano
PhD in Physics, after a few years spent in the field of research in astrophysics, in 2015 she obtained the qualification to teach Physics in secondary schools, and from 1 September 2020, she became a permanent teacher.
Since 2014 she has been collaborating with the University of Palermo as an adjunct professor in the degree courses in Engineering and Obstetrics, as a fellow, and with collaborative assignments.
Since 2010 she is a member of the “PALERMOSCIENZA” association. She collaborates with the association in the design and implementation, as an expert in Physics, of laboratory activities for students aged 6 to 18. In 2013 she was in charge of the Science Center (Oct 2013 – Mar 2014) and since 2014 she is in charge of the secretariat of the Association and of the scientific and organizational secretariat of the annual event “Esperienza inSegna“. She has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2014 and since 2020 she has held the role of Secretary. In 2020, she oversaw the preparation of the “Esperienza InSegna” event together with Carmelo Arena and Valeria Greco. With the association, she has gained great experience in the dissemination and informal teaching of Science.
In 2017 she did an internship at the INAF press office (National Institute of Astrophysics) and obtained a master’s degree in scientific journalism at the “La Sapienza” University of Rome.
Since July 2019 she has been editor of the online magazine Scienza 3000
